Breakfast at Tiffany's

So Christmas has come and gone. I feel like I haven't sat down for about two weeks now. I haven't really had much of an opportunity to rest, let alone worry about my visa and all other things I really should be worrying about. My wake up call came in the form of a five piece lugguage set left for me by Santa, and I suddenly remembered that I was shipping off in not too long.

So, I've started a to-do list of sorts for my travel to and within Australia. I've decided that the thing I would most like to do at my first stop (NYC) is go to Tiffany's. Will I buy anything? Probably not. Will I enjoy myself? Most definitely. I've also decided the I would like to see the original Starbucks in Seattle, but I don't know of much else in Seattle. I know of nothing in Boulder, but I'm sure SMS will have PLENTY to show me.

With regard to Sydney, I'm allowing my favorite Mel to take me where she pleases. We've gotten plenty of recs from Peter and his wife lately, and all of their talk has me incredibly excited! I'd like to see the Opera House from the Harbor at night. I would like to go through ridiculous amounts of film. :-)

Any suggestions for my travels? Do let me know...I love seeing new things!

Cheers!

Morning Quick Cross

Look! Future Me!
Heard from my favorite fair-haired Australian wine maker today, Mel. She's in Seattle, just coming back from Vancouver. She has successfully seen more of my own country than I have. I'm excited to have her back in the Finger Lakes for Christmas...soon I'll visit her on her own shores! Scary!

I got a bit sad today at Ferro. Wednesdays are HORRENDOUS, but, they're made better by the people I work with. I've finally gotten used to all of the turds I work with and now I have to leave them. What's a thursday morning without seeing Bills? Or the morning quick cross? A visit from Barry at 6:15 am? 7 am coffee? I do hope I get to remember them fondly.
Cheers!

United Flight 863

Today I booked my flight with United!

Sidenote: The title comes from a Tom Cochrane song, "Life is a Highway". And I have said already I am extremely opposed to blogging, it's merely an effective way to keep everyone informed.

Anyway, here is my flight itinerary. I've decided this is a hell of an oppurtunity to see some friends all across the US, so I've built in a few side trips.

*7 Feb Depart PY, NY for ROCH to fly to JFK in NYC (flight not booked on Jetblue just yet)

* I will spend that night with my dearest ALISON in her new habitat...Chinatown

* Depart NYC Laguardia @1:55pm on 8 Feb

* Arrive 4:15 pm in Denver, CO to spend some QT with SMS

* Depart Denver, CO @11:15am on 10 Feb

* Arrive in Seattle, WA @ 1:02pm for three days with my oldest friend in the universe, Anna, my video game guru!

* Depart Seattle on 13 Feb @7:20 pm

* Arrive San Fran, CA @9:23 pm

* Depart for Sydney, AUS at 10:18pm on 13 Feb

* Arrive in Sydney, AUS on 15 Feb @ 7:50am

* Spend 15 Feb- 18 Feb bopping around Sydney with Mel before finally taking my 5-6 hour train ride to arrive in Wagga Wagga on the evening of the 18th to begin International Student Orientation on 19 Feb.

This is all if my student visa goes through.

And yes, there will be no valentine's day for me in 2007. Sorry Erin, I skipped your birthday.

Cheers!
PS- I've decided to post a pic with every post. Today's will be the plane that I am leaving the US in! Enjoy, it's up top. And yes, the plane has two floors!

Formalities

Okay, so, I was intially really opposed to blogging. Then I started the easyjournal, and I wasn't so opposed. I went back to being opposed when I thought of blogging all of my time down under. After recieving several requests and reassurances, I decided I would blog for your reading pleasure, and more importantly, communication with you.

First, here's a link to my poor and old easy journal. It is reasonably entertaining and chronicles some life and times at Gettysburg College.

Right now, I am headed out to go Christmas shopping. I'm in the process of putting together travel plans, Visas, etc. Overall, I'm pumped, but completely and ridiculously frightened!

Cheers,
C
